About Lolita

Adoption Fee: $375.00
Chihuahua
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

This cutie patootie is Lolita, just a pup at 1.5 years and a whole whopping 8lbs of fur. She was brought into the shelter in Franklin County after being found on the side of a highway in a crate. The shelter reached out to our rescue because she did not do well in the environment. Foster mom and dad have had her for almost a month, and she is now starting to finally come out of her shell. She sure is a tough nut to crack in regards to getting to know her personality and her boundaries. She will need a lot of time to adjust to a new home. The first couple weeks she was so scared and timid she wanted to just sleep under foster mom and dad's bed at night and decompress on her own terms. They gave her a bed and blanket and she seemed pretty content with that arrangement until she was ready to sleep with them. She took awhile to warm up to her foster parents in the beginning and would not let them pet her or pick her up and would run away. She tried to escape their fenced in yard any chance she could, so they were not able to leave her unattended for until she got used to their home. Now she seems to be in the kitchen more so because that is where the yummy treats are. Although now when she is outside no matter the weather she is just sitting on the patio or mulch enjoying nature. And yes she will come in soaking wet from a rainfall and will want to lay on your face! She just started playing with toys and entertaining herself by throwing them up in the air and rolling around on the ground with them making grunts and groans. Be prepared to be licked to death. She loves to lick your hands especially if they smell like food. She is not really phased by having her foster dog siblings in the house but does not seem to be interested in them yet. Having other dog mates is not necessary for her. I think she would be content being the only dog that gets spoiled rotten. She is potty trained and does not require being crated if you leave the house. As of now she is not a fan of the vets at all. She is a fear biter with anything unknown and new to her and is unfortunately not allowed back to the vets without a muzzle. Hopefully overtime she will overcome this. The ideal home for her would be one without young children, a secure fenced in yard, a home that is not hectic with lots of visitors coming and going, and an adopter that lives in the Northeast Ohio area. We would strongly recommend a meet and greet before the adoption would take place. We cannot stress enough that the adopter knows that this will be process on getting her to feel safe and relaxed in her new environment and it will not be an overnight miracle. She is currently residing in Seven Hills, OH. Please email her foster parents at [email protected] with any inquires.
