About Alana

Adoption Fee: $25
Airedale mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Posted on 5/8/21, and the picture was taken on 5/5/21. Alana and her 6 sisters were dumped at a boat ramp at Lake Palestine, TX on 3/6/21. Someone posted them on Facebook, and I picked her 6 sisters up on 3/10/21, but Alana eluded getting caught until we built a Missy Trap after she would not go in a live trap, which caught her on 5/1/21. Her sisters are an assortment of colors - one Yellow Lab mix with an under bite, a Golden scruffy fur mix like her but smaller, another one similar to Alana, a White and Black one but with short straight hair, and 2 Black and White Border Collie looking mixes that are all in Oregon and adopted. All were just scared, and were friendly once caught. Alana jumps up to put her fluffy paws on my arms now and licks my face. She can climb over fencing so I need to be able to bring her to a home to check the fencing, loves to play and chew on toys, but flinches when toys are picked up until they are thrown, needs more work on a leash, and had fun playing chase with her last 2 sisters that were still here until 5/18/21. She will require another dog to play with that is her size. We are guessing that she is an Airedale mix from her appearance, but not the coloring. All of her sisters tested heartworm negative, but she is positive, and is on heartworm prevention for the slow kill method. Alana was spayed on 5/7/21 weighing 50 pounds, and estimated to be one year old. On 6/7/21, she weighed 54 pounds when I took her to meet someone in Frisco, TX. She was scared the entire 1.5 hours we were in the back yard, and kept going to the gate and fence to try to find a way out, so I need to find a home where she feels safe like she does with us. She has finally stopped climbing our fence, but can do so at any time for any reason. A privacy fence should be able to keep her from climbing. She was adopted on 11/27/21, and returned 12/29/21, because the family decided she was too big for them to have her travel with them when they go places.
