About Duck *ADOPTION PEND*

Adoption Fee: $325
Australian Shepherd mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

A Dog named Duck! Blue-eyed Duck boy is an approximately 2 year old, 45 pound red merle Australian Shepherd mix with an eager-to-please, happy-to-see-you-and-be-seen exuberance. Duck loves Folks and greets them with a jump up joy he has learned to curb- but gosh, he is SO glad you're here! His intelligence, energy, and 'fun time is good!' philosophy makes Duck a boy for play- fetch, flirt lure, tug-of-war, or nose games are a yes. Balls are for sport and he's ready to engage in a game of fetch anytime, anywhere. Toys are a necessity. Duck's a dog in training and learns fast. He knows basic house manners and is crate trained. As does every dog, he'll expect his Forever Folks to give him time to learn new routines. Duck does fine on leash, especially with a 'Gentle Leader' style head collar. Duck likes the idea of being loyal to the end, so prefers a one dog only home. This rugrat occasionally seeks nibbles at counter height or wastebin level. Duck, however, is amiable, and responsive to a confident and consistent coach. Car rides in crates are great, and in no time he can be taught to travel tethered. Duck's Folks are looking for all that an Aussie truly is- the smarts, the energy, the soul. They want an active 'let's pal around' boy because they enjoy it themselves! Walks, games, and play are a daily event. His Forever Family are herding breed experienced or have truly researched what an Aussie commitment means. Duck has been in an environment with no time for the mental and physical activity and training he needs, and he isn't looking to repeat the experience. An adults only or kids 10 and up dog savvy place is for him.%BD%BD%BD%A0 This rascally sweet guy would do best with a fenced-in yard, since he jumped on another dog once when loose. The right Aussie savvy folks might not need one. Duck doesn't see dog parks as a good time, so that's a no. Though he is looking to be the solo canine, Duck does well with kitties. Introductions with all new people, places, and pets MUST always be slow and monitored.%BD%BD%BD%A0 Duck wants you to know, 'Dear Forever Friend, I'm SO ready to do everything by your side. Let's get going- together!' Do you see eye-to-eye with blue-eyed Duck? If so, the first step is to fill out an application at the link below to be considered as a possible adopter.
