About Heidi

Heidi is an absolute delight. If you want a gentle, gorgeous, affectionate, shadow-companion that will love you with all her heart, you need Heidi in your life!!�%A0 She is a 93 lb body pillow that invites you to be her little spoon, and is all the emotional support you'll ever need.�%A0 She is an Xtreme napper (preferably with her head...or full body...on you), and snores like a saw through lumber.�%A0 Her foster brother and sister have roused her for a couple very short-lived games of chase, but she much prefers to be cuddled up next to you!�%A0 Ever wanted a dog to bring with you everywhere- breweries, hardware store, walks to the mailbox?.., this is your�%A0girl!!�%A0 Prepare to make friends wherever you go as she solicits pets from strangers with her signature head-nudge and full body-lean (strangers are just friends she hasn't met yet).�%A0 She is pushy about getting attention but never jumps- all four feet always on the floor.�%A0 She is a social butterfly- when one person stops petting, on to the next!�%A0 �%A0 Heidi is so low-key and well-behaved, even when outside.�%A0 During a neighborhood garage sale, we brought her bed out in the driveway next to our chairs so she could sit with us.�%A0 She just chilled there sunbathing, without a leash.�%A0 She sweetly lumbered over to greet everyone that stopped by, and came right back to lounge with us.�%A0 She loved all the human attention and was a huge hit with adults and kids alike!!�%A0 �%A0�%A0�%A0 When I say this girl is NO TROUBLE at all, I mean it.�%A0 Zero potty accidents since day 1 and will do business right away when outside.�%A0 Won't pull on leash or try to jump fences.�%A0 Eats until she's full and let's her foster sister crawl right underneath her Dane stilt supermodel legs to finish her leftovers. Not that interested in toys so she shares nicely :) The only thing aggressive about her is her�%A0cuddling!�%A0 With a dog this affectionate and people-oriented, some separation anxiety is to be expected, but we have had no issue mitigating it. She enjoys her crate and will hang out in it with the door open, so continued crate training will be a breeze- she already settles quickly once you close up the door and leave. Heidi girl is perfect in every way.�%A0 She would do well in a home that can match her low-energy lifestyle (at least most of the time). She is a companion dog through and through, so someone who spends a decent amount of time at home would make her very, very happy.�%A0 She would do well in a home with or without furry siblings- her main concern is her human(s)! Dogs with such calming presence and absolute affection as hers are such a treasure - don't let this one get away! Heidi is a 5 yr old Great Dane. She is spayed and UTD on vaccinations and preventatives. She is currently in a foster home in the Charlotte NC area. We do adopt out-of-state but require adopters to travel to the foster home with their current dog/dogs (to ensure they will be friends) to pick up. Out of respect for our foster family's time and privacy, we do NOT arrange meet and greets without an issue application on file.
