About Kaia

Kaia is now 9�%A0months of age, and after some time of getting to know Kaia and her personality and her further training needs, we will be extra selective in who can adopt Miss Kaia for her own happiness. She is fully vetted! All her caretaker's adore her and she has come a long way in the last few months. Kaia is a beautiful girl who is still very much a puppy needing lots of guidance and further training. She is NOT�%A0a couch potato, in fact all of her breeds that make her up are working breeds. She will require a home who is going to give her the proper structure and exercise needed�%A0to keep her physically and mentally healthy. The breeds in order of percentages�%A0are as follows: Catahoula Leopard Dog- Golden Retriever-Labrador Retriever-German Shepherd Dog-Alaskan Malamute-Canadian Eskimo Dog-Siberian Husky-Continental Toy Spaniel. Due to her breeds and their need to work to thrive we will only allow Kaia to go to a very active home. (a walk around the block�%A0will not cut it) When applying please be sure to detail how you plan to exercise this lovely girl and how often. She is very smart and extremely sweet but does need a firm pack leader who is not a push over this girl is very much a catahoula in personality and needs someone who will be firm from the start with her. She is not for a first time dog owner and she is not for a laid back type. She has done well with other dogs to date and we do feel she would do great with a friend her size who is non-confrontational. Below we will outline the qualifications to be considered as an adopter for Kaia. If you cannot meet these please do not apply for her. 1. Must have previous Catahoula or Shepherd experience.�%A0 2. Must have a fenced yard this girl loves the outdoors,and we would love her to have a safe space to run an play regularly outside of her other forms of exercise. Must own your home absolutly no renters and no apartments for this girl. 3. No children. Even teens we will not consider. 4. No cats (to our knowledge she has not met one) catahoulas are known to not do well with smaller pets. 5.Must be commited to and have the time for�%A0 daily exercise, training, and�%A0socialization. Kaia (Ky-a) is a 5 month old Catahoula/Shepherd/Retriever mix. Kaia is an amazing, social and highly intelligent sweetheart of a dog. She has been well loved in her current home for over three months; but they have come to the heartbreaking conclusion that they are not the best fit for her at this time. The decision was made out of care and for the success of Kaia's future; hoping that her forever family will have the time, resources and environment to give Kaia the proper training, socialization and consistency to bring out all of her amazing qualities.�%A0 Kaia would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy children who understand not to overwhelm her as she develops and learns through her training. With Kaias incredible smarts and energy we believe an experienced home with a yard she can run and grow in would be a great fit. Kaia is playful, loves to run, go on walks and loves to be around people. We'd love to find an active family that appreciates and flourishes Kaia's intelligence.�%A0 We cannot wait for this special girl to live up to her true potential in her forever home.
