I came to SVASC a few months ago because my previous owners were unable to afford vet care for me; I had a really nasty mass that needed urgent medical attention. Luckily, SVASC and Petco Love were able to get that removed, so now I am looking for a family! At around 10 years old, I have definitely slowed down some, but I still have plenty of energy to follow you around the house and go for short walkies. I love to be with people and can often be found shadowing my foster mom; wherever she goes, I follow. I am a chunky, spunky little thing that would be a great companion for someone looking to make me their 'one and only.' Something to keep in mind is that before coming to SVASC I had a very large, 7lb mammary mass. Thankfully that is off of me, but diagnostic testing showed that my mass was cancerous. Breast cancer has a very high rate of recurrence, so my future family needs to keep that in mind. I am currently living with cats and dogs in my foster home, but let me tell you, I would really prefer to be your only pet. I do okay with them, but am a sassy pooch and can also be quite bossy with other animals. I can learn to live with other animals, though. Introductions will just need to be taken slowly. I would do best in a home without any very young kids, but older kiddos and teens should be okay. I can be a bit wary around men. My adoption fee is $125 to an approved adopter.
