About Swifer

Meet Swifer...Is she not the prettiest little white dog you've ever seen?! She's a sweet and wonderful 8 yr old, 8 lb. Maltese mix looking for her forever home. She's an affectionate little snuggle bug that is fully potty trained, stays close to her person, and walks well on a leash in a quiet environment. In November of 2020, Swifer was diagnosed with diabetes. She has had quite a few unfortunate events happen lately in her life. Her human mom passed away, so Swifer and her 94 yr old human dad moved to a retirement community. There she developed diabetes, and went blind. Then, a few weeks ago her dad fell and broke his back, so unfortunately he had to surrender her. She has done great with her foster family, and needs a home that embraces her diabetes. She gets insulin shots twice a day and glucose testing. Her diet is important and will need to stay consistent. She is a little unsure and likes to stay close due to her blindness. She does not due stairs on her own. She is great with other calm small dogs, and good with older children. Swifer is a wonderfully sweet dog and so deserving of a good break... a forever family to love on her as she loves them back. Apply to meet Swifer toady!
