About King

Our King is a great big 4yr old hunk of a dude with a big squishy smoochie baby face! His previous owner was forced to surrender him and they both were just devastated with losing each other, but King has made the best of it here with us. He is a very shy insecure boy that takes a while to come out of his shell, although we have seen that he appears to do much better getting closer to women than men (so yeah, a mama's boy!). Although he is not truly aggressive toward humans, he is definitely going to need very patient yet firm guidance and training to help him overcome his insecurity. He will need a quiet period of adjustment (at least a month) in his new home to be fully comfortable with his new surroundings and new humans. Once he warms up, he will gladly crawl up on your lap on the couch - he is so big that only HALF of him fits on your lap, but he's content with that. He is a typical boxer, his nub goes so fast sometimes that he actually walks sideways! And he loves to carry slippers or shoes around the house, or his favorite toy......doesn't eat them, just carries them like a prize. King is really very sweet-natured, and is going to make a wonderful baby to someone who will just be patient and give him the time and security he needs. We would like to see him go to a home preferably with a large submissive female dog, to help him overcome his insecurity with a new home and new parents. We do not recommend cats in the home.
