Her visible tumors may raise some eyebrows, but don't even think about feeling sorry for her because 'poor me' is not in her vocabulary. Tiffany is about 8-10 years old, approximately 50 pounds, and located with our pals at the Friends of Attleboro Animal Shelter (FAAS) in Attleboro, MA. She was a very underweight stray and has been diagnosed with cancerous Mast Cell Tumors (MCTs). Alas! This is not a death sentence! In fact, based on two methods for grading tumors, she has a survival rate of two to four years. Tiffany needs an adopter who will provide palliative care for the rest of her golden years. She takes a natural anti-inflammatory mixture which studies have shown to help, and she'll need periodic checkups. Tiff's adopter will receive her medical records and care plan. Background: From experience, the staff believe Tiffany was dumped after fulfilling her breeding duties. You can imagine the environment she lived in based on a severe lack of vet care. Since Tiffany didn't experience a normal life with humans, she is not very interested in them (can you blame her?). She's aloof but very easy to please, and she's not at all aggressive. Tiffany's agenda involves toys. She entertains herself nicely and loves spending the day playing with them. If given the choice she would take her toys over humans, less drama! She also enjoys her walks and can be seen taking a stroll while carrying her favorite toy. She is also very pretty, especially with that eye makeup she insists on wearing. It's very likely Tiffany gets along with other dogs, but a meet n greet with potential canine sibs is required. She recently met a male rescue dog and though he was unfriendly, Tiffany remained enthusiastic and just wanted to play, play, play! We do think she would be ok with a dog that's able to show her the ropes, but still let Tiff think she's the boss. Now that her life is finally bright, Tiffany deserves a real home that's full of toys and the comfiest dog bed ever made.
