About Jagger

Jagger is looking for a foster-to-adopt family! Jagger is a 3 yr old Great Dane. He is one of the sweetest dogs ever! He is excited to share affection, and loves being in the presence of his people! He is hesitant about new people, and takes time to warm up, but once he does, he is very affectionate. He seems to pick a person as 'his' and will be very loyal and follow them everywhere! Despite never having obedience training before coming to rescue, he is extremely well mannered and gentle! It took him about 2 weeks to pick up the skill of 'sit,' and we are still working on a few other small commands. Luckily he is very food motivated and willing to work with some patience! Jagger has some anxiety, and doesn't like to be left alone, and he doesn't agree with crates. He would do best in a home where someone is primarily in the home most of the time. He would love to have a sibling, as he does really well with the female dane in his foster home, who he loves to play with. Definitely NO CATS for Jagger. He has done good with younger kids, but he has a tendency to push and lean a lot, so would do best in a house with kids 10+ YRS OR OLDER. Younger kids will only be considered for with families with Dane experience. He's pretty good on the leash, but would enjoy a fence because he does like to run free outside. Jagger is heartworm positive & needs a family willing to go through the treatment with him. As long as your dogs are on heartworm preventative, there will be no risk of them contracting it from him. The rescue pays for his medical needs during this time. He is neutered and UTD on vaccines. Jagger is currently in a temporary foster home in Chattanooga TN.
