About Nessy

Meet Nessy! This little nugget weighs just under 6 lbs and is about 13 years old. She came to us after her owner surrendered her to a local animal control for unknown reasons. Nessy is a sweet girl who wants love, but doesn't seem to know how to accept it. She hasn't been defensive or nippy, but she is nervous and jumpy with handling. She needs a patent adopter who will take their time, go slow with her, and show her what it means to be a loved and cherished pet. She is crate trained and is doing well with potting outside, but does occasionally have an accident. She gets along with the other dogs in her foster home (between 3-50 lbs), but doesn't engage in play. She does have some allergies we are working on managing. We suspect it is food related, so she has been switched to a raw diet. We are also limiting her to a single protein source/ limited ingredient treats along with giving her routine medicated baths. Please be prepared to be disciplined about what she eats and to invest some money into her diet, as she will not be a good candidate for cheap dog foods. Nessy is current on rabies and DHPP vaccines, she is negative for heartworm and fecal parasites and was treated for Lymes. She is microchipped and has had full senior bloodwork, urine testingm and a complete dental cleaning.
