About Bear

This is Bear - he is probably a Rottie mix. He is about a year and a half old. He is a sweet dog, housebroken but under socialized - scared of new people so needs someone who will take it slow and easy with him. He gets along with kids, however, his prior owner said that when outside playing there was no issues but inside the house when the kids would run around he would get nervous and pee. The vet apparently told them with his anxiety issues that it could be dangerous in the future should he get nervous and bite the kids. He has lived with another smaller dog with no issues. So, based upon the foregoing, he will need to go to a home with older kids who aren't running around and probably toward him. He needs more socialization with new people to get over his fear of them. He is underweight. His feeding habits have been once a day and he eats it immediately upon being given his food - that has switched and he is now getting two solid meals a day (along with a little extra to help put the weight back on him). He is housebroken (except in the situation described above) and has some basic training (when you say sit he does so immediately), he seems to walk fairly well on his leash. He is neutered, current on shots, heartworm negative, wormed and micro-chipped. His adoption fee is $200.00.
