About Yukon

Great Dane / Pit Bull
Age: Senior
Sex: Male

'Hello, my name is Yukon, but my family affectionately knows me as 'Yuki.' I am an 11 year old, 80 pound, Great Dane / Bully mix that is currently looking for a retirement home to spend the rest of my days in. Do you think that you could provide that for me? My family asked SVASC to courtesy post me, so that I can hopefully find a loving home without having to come to a shelter. You see, my dad passed away early last year and now my mom is having to move to a senior living facility. Unfortunately, they have weight limits and I'm just too big. As much as all of my family love me, no one is in the position to keep me right now. My whole family is so sad to see their beloved gentle giant move, but I told them that I would try to keep in touch. Anyways, now I am looking for a home where I can spend my golden years. I am described as an easygoing, lovebug and enkoy lounging around with my family. I love to go for walks, but do have some arthritis that causes stiffness most days. This is easily managed with pain medication, though I would also love a home with fewer steps, if possible. I do get along wonderfully with other dogs, but would like to meet any future pals before moving forward. I am also good with kids, but my family recommends older kiddos, so that I don't knock anyone down accidentally. I would do best in a home with no kitties, please. When considering adopting me, please keep in mind that this is a courtesy listing and that I am not currently staying at SVASC. All adoptions and transactions will be held outside of SVASC, though current caretaker/owners of animals listed through SVASCs courtesy post program are welcome to follow SVASC adoption procedures. For more information on how to meet me, please email Erin at [email protected] so that she can get you in touch with my people.'
