About Samson or Sammy

Adoption Fee: $100.00
Alaskan Malamute
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Sammy is looking for his forever family. This eight year old sweetie had his owner pass away and his family was no longer able to care for him. He was adopted from the shelter and four months later was returned. Sammy is a vibrant adult with arthritis and is a big cuddle bug. He is underweight right now but his foster mom is working on it. He attaches to one person but loves the entire family. He likes to be around his person all the time and if his person is not there, someone else will do. If he is home alone, he doesn't chew or tear things up. He sits and sings the blues (howls) a bit. His foster mom has stated that she is teaching him to communicate with her about going outside. He is housebroken but doesn't know how to tell her that he needs to go out now. He has had a few 'on purposes' because he just doesn't know how to tell her that he needs to go out. They are still learning about each other. He was traumatized through his ordeal and when he first got to her home, he wanted to bolt and run. Now he stays and just follows her around the yard. He loves to go for rides in the car and jumps right in. He gets so excited to go anywhere with his foster mom. Sammy goes to the dog park and likes some dogs and wants to hump some others. Those that he wants to hump are not happy about it. I think he just wants to show his dominance. He was adopted to a home with a cat and a chicken before being returned. He got along with both. We don't know how many more years Sammy has but he deserves a loving home to live out the rest of his life. He is a sweet, loving, goofball that loves to play with toys a little; but most of all, just wants your company.
