About Harold

This can be found at www.waldosmuttleycrew.org. Select the Applications tab, then Adoption Application. THE APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED BEFORE WE CAN START THE PROCESS. It can take up to a week to process an application. We are an all-volunteer rescue so please be patient. Our adoption area is limited to a 4 hour radius of Indianapolis. We try our best to provide all information in our bios. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask during the interview process. Some of our dogs have special requirements such as needs another dog in the home or requires a physical and permanent fenced yard. These requirements are not negotiable. Unless otherwise noted, we do not cat test our adoptable dogs. We also require that all pets in your household be spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and on a monthly heartworm/flea preventative. E-MAILS: We do not respond to e-mail inquiries without an application. We regret that we cannot respond to every e-mail unless you fill out an application. All the dogs we offer for adoption have been spayed/neutered, wormed and microchipped, are up-to-date on immunizations, have been tested for heartworm and are currently receiving a monthly preventative. We keep telling him he's so good looking and Harold's response is always 'Handsome is as handsome does!' But you have to admit he's quite debonair! Harold is an 8 year old beagle with what he prefers to be called a 'robust physique'. He does like a good meal; but then, don't we all? And he's not just all looks! He's a got personality in spades as well! Handsome Harold really enjoys going on walks & outings so that he gets to make new friends; he's never met a stranger .... 4 legged or 2 legged! (He is a bit TOO friendly with cats, however, so in order to preserve the peace, should go to a 'feline-free' home) Despite all these fabulous qualities, Harold's previous owners decided that they didn't want to deal with him any longer. He'd been diagnosed with Cushing's disease (a tumor by the pituitary gland) and even though his prognosis is a happy, healthy 2 years more to enjoy life, they literally put out word that they were giving it a week to find a place for him to go or they were going to 'put him down'. Well, we heard of his plight and we couldn't let this happen ... and if you meet Harold, you will understand as well! He's awesome! Harold doesn't care much for being alone; dogs are pack animals who prefer to have company & he definitely fits that category. He would do best in a home with people who are home most of the time as well as having a companion dog for him. Although Harold doesn't really play with other dogs (he's much too dignified for that!), he does like to have someone to explore the yard with & also someone with whom he can bark at the mailman. Harold is potty trained & a well mannered fellow who will greet you with a wagging tail and a smile on his face! His adoption fee is $150; he is neutered, micro chipped and current on vaccinations as well as monthly heartworm/flea preventative. Applications are available at waldosmuttleycrew.org .
