About Mattis

Mattis is a very trained dog. He knows sit and if you say outside, he will actually get up and walk to the door. He is mostly leash trained but sometimes you will have to pull the leash and make him sit to so he knows he isn't suppose to pull you. He is great on car rides. Never had him around cats so unsure how he is with them. We have another male dog and the two play a bit rough but there has never been blood drawn. Now I will say he is protective and he isn't bad around other dogs but I would let them meet first and see how they are together (if you have other dogs). Medically he is a bit high maintenance and we can no longer maintain it. His skin gets very irritated but cleaning him with wipes after he comes in from outside usually works. His ears get really dirty and sometimes he will scratch to the point they bleed. Clean them as regularly as you can (he will nip at you if his ears hurt to much, but he has never nipped at a child) He has anxiety especially when it rains. We have to put a weighted coat on him. He is a cuddle bug and will give them freely. Do not feed him raw hide, he will eat it and throw it up. There is no food aggression, but he is a greedy boy and will try to take all the treats. Just make sure you tell him no, sit, and stay firmly so he knows to wait for his treat. He sleeps all day for the most part, but every now and then he will catch a good wind and run around. The fee is negotiable and we want to find him a good home. If we can't find him by the time we have to move he will be surrendered to the shelter and I really don't wont to do that.
