***NEEDS FOSTER or FUREVER HOME*** Meet ACEY! ACEY is a sweet and loving 1-year-old, 43-pound neutered male, black and tan Catahoula/Blue Lacy mix who entered a Utah shelter recently when his family gave up on him after 6 months living with him. ACEY's behavior reportedly had changed during the past two months (e.g., growls, barking, snapping, toy guarding) and they were unable to manage it. Shelter staff, who interviewed the family, believes that ACEY was picking up on the mom's anxious energy. Because the shelter did not have the resources to assess and help ACEY, he was not eligible for their adoption program. Friends Furever Animal Rescue believed that ACEY needed a second chance and accepted him into their rescue. ACEY is an indoor dog; he is crate trained and house trained. He does well with all people and kids. He rides well in the car. ACEY's family shared that he LOVES to be with other dogs and gets along well with cats (he liked to play with them). He was afraid of the horses, goats, and cows that lived on the farm with him, but did well with the chickens and ducks. ACEY already knows 'sit', 'shake', and 'stay' commands. He needs a little work with loose-leash-walking and does better when using a harness. ACEY needs a furever home with a strong leader to help him be clear on what is and is not expected of him. He needs someone who can watch if he is starting to tense up and remove him from the situation/trigger so that it does not escalate. ACEY is a very malleable, young pup who can be put on the right path to become a fantastic dog. ACEY has been vetted, is current on all his vaccines and is microchipped. He is ready to interview his furever families. MORE PHOTOS & VIDEOS: https://photos.app.goo.gl/uvjum4a6bUZfjEVy6 Contact [email protected] to meet ACEY.
