About Reggie

Reggie is very sweet and gentle but also full of life and has a multifaceted personality with an outgoing, brash side on one hand and on the other a sensitive, sometimes worried side. He loves to be right next to you and is interested in everything you're doing. He is a huge snuggle bug and gives the softest kisses with a tickle from his mustache. Reggie is a 1 1/2 year old Terrier mix of some sort. He weighs about 17lbs. Terriers can be very active dogs and get into trouble if they don't have a busy lifestyle. An active family or someone who is home a lot and will take the time to provide him with enrichment activities will best fit Reggie. He also will do best if he has a bunch of kids to keep him busy along with other dogs in the home that he can play rough with. And don't worry just because of his size that he can't handle it; those bigger dogs still have a hard time keeping up. His girlfriend Kona - a young and athletic pit bull - has proven that he does just fine. Reggie is good with other dogs and cats in the home but can be reactive when seeing strange dogs on walks. He is great with kids. If you skate, run, or bike, he is your man. We just hope you can keep up! Reggie is an escape artist, especially if he doesn't have enough activity in his life. Once he finds a way out he will focus on it and try again and again. He is fast and clever about it. He WILL dash out the door at some point so some kind of safety feature is a must such as a fenced porch, a gate in the hallway, a spring-locking gate in the front yard fence, or whatever can conveniently be set up. A secure fence is needed; 6 feet high or with coyote rollers, angled wires/mesh, or such if shorter. Reggie walks well on a leash and loves car rides. He is potty trained and uses a doggie door. He is crate trained but generally does best in a large plastic crate. Unfortunately he can't be left loose in the home when alone. Reggie was picked up when running stray when he was 4 months old after jumping the owners' four foot fence. This lead them to surrendered him to the shelter. He has gone from foster to foster and was adopted and returned once.
