About Fiona

Adoption Fee: $125.00
Pit Bull mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Fiona is a very sweet 6-year old, 46-pound pocket pittie located near Manchester, NH. She's spayed, house-trained, and up-to-date on vaccines. She has been in a loving foster home during the pandemic which has enabled her to grow into herself after a very long shelter stay. She will need a special adopter to help her continue this journey of discovery. Fiona really enjoys being with people, going on low-key outings, playing, taking walks, and cuddling. Once she knows people, she will wag her tail and give a snuggle. This is amazing considering her background. Fiona was in poor shape when picked up as a stray in 2019. Malnourished and mangey, you would never know she is the same dog today. This petite gal is a survivor who started her road to recovery once under the care of our friends at the Manchester Animal Shelter. It took over a year until she was finally healthy and strong. Finding the right diet and medications, and learning to trust people again. Now she goes on outings where she ventures to public places and continues to amaze us with the progress, she makes each time! She was so stubborn at first when we initially started training, and now she thoroughly enjoys it. She is highly intelligent, and she knows it! Fiona loves to be out in the yard. She sunbathes and rolls around on her back, legs flailing in the air, just soaking up her happy place. She will stalk birds and squirrels and enjoys sounding the alarm, so everyone knows there is a person at the door. Fiona also does well in the car. Whatever gets her out of the shelter is good enough for her! She receives an outstanding report every time the foster checks in. She does well in a home, has no accidents, and doesn't seem too upset being there alone. She just settles into a comfy spot, watches Animal Planet, and waits for the foster dad to return home. She's loves the simple things in life! Introductions with this beauty will need to go slow to ensure a smooth transition. way she was treated by previous humans, could have left her aggressive and lost, but the inner power of a pit bull shines through instead. Fiona needs to be the only fur-kid in an adult-only home. No kids or busy apartment complexes please. It may be possible for her to live with older, mature teenagers, so please email your situation to the address below if that is the case.
