About Barney

I'm Barney and I'm a male and I've never been neutered. When I was born about 7yrs ago, the married couple's three children were only 6, 8 and 10yrs old. It broke their heart to give me to Andy as a comfort dog for a paraplegic family member.. I once was being walked by my Mom when she was attacked by another leashed dog which bit my Mom's wrist. I defended my Mom and now I distrust other mid sized and large dogs for obvious reasons.. I am great with kids and folks of all ages.. I was also pushed around by a cat as a puppy so I am leery of cats which are everywhere in my current mobile home park in Largo.. despite that I am a happy dog.. and am okay with a short walk outside in a.m. and another in the p.m. I love it when Andy gives me a bath in the yard.. under the hose.. I enjoy Salmon & Peas kibble, Andy adds a few cooked veggies and chicken which I enjoy and an omega oil gel cap for my health. My Vet and her Team love my personality and smile.. I am a snuggler and sniff and investigate every package my human Dad brings in the house from the stores. I enjoy clean water and take preventive meds for heartworm and enjoy being brushed often by Andy my caregiver/human Dad.. I am enthusiastic and love to sniff the scents of other dogs on my walk.. I would love to be your new best friend.
