About Kona

All Kona wants is her forever home! Kona is a 3 year old, female purebred German Shepherd. ��%BC��%BC��%BC We rescued Kona from the situation where she was in a dog run 24/7��%BC. She had absolutely no sort of training when we got her and had no idea how to be a dog. We put Kona through a 6 week board & train program as she had pretty bad dog reactivity. We have done extensive training with her and she has been doing amazing! Her reactivity isn't as severe anymore, she will usually just whine if she sees a dog on a walk but is quickly corrected with a quick pull on the leash. *It is NOT dog aggression!* She simply has no idea how to act with dogs due to lack of socialization as a puppy.��%BC��%BC��%BC��%BC She walks great on a leash and knows basic commands��%BC��%BC��%BC��%BC��%BC��%BC��%BC��%BC��%BC. She will do okay with another dog but she will need time to adjust. ��%BC She can be very pushy with other dogs and somewhat dominant. Kona is a working dog but has no idea how to work��%BC��%BC, she need someone with patience, time, and dedication to training. YOU MUST BE EXPERIENCED WITH GSD or similar breeds.��%BC She absolutely loves kids and loves to be with her owners. She is a truly wonderful dog and would make an amazing hiking partner��%BC��%BC! She is currently on a raw diet and thriving! She's also kennel & potty trained! Kona needs an owner that is assertive, dominant, strong minded, and knows the in and outs of German shepherds or working dog breeds. She is an extremely intelligent dog but needs a intelligent owner to match her personality to help her be the best possible dog, she is extremely capable of being an amazing companion.
