About Dolly

Treeing Walker Coonhound
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

This is Dolly. She appears to be a purebred Treeing Walker Coonhound that is approximately 4-5 years old per our Vet. Dolly wandered up to our home around April 9 and promptly adopted us. We have tried everything we know possible to locate her owner with no success. When she showed up, she was covered in ticks but otherwise appeared to be in good shape. She has been scanned for a microchip (there wasn't one) and health checked by our Vet. She received all of her shots and was treated for whip worms. She is currently on medication for a few minor scrapes but should be be finished with those meds by the end of this coming week. Dolly is EXTREMELY affectionate and whenever she sees someone she starts vigorously wagging her tail. Before we had her Vet checked, we had left her outside on our front porch in a kennel with its door open. She had fluffy blankets, a pillow, and a tarp around her kennel to keep her warm. She seemed to enjoy her kennel very much. When the temps dropped back into the 30's we brought her inside. Up until that time, she had enjoyed free roam in our un-fenced yard. After her Vet visit, we decided to keep her inside full time so she would not run off until we could find her a good home with a loving family. She enjoys being with 'her people' as much as possible and is learning that constant barking while in her crate will not get her the attention she so desperately craves. We are working on this and she is responding well. Other than this one issue, she is no problem whatsoever. Open the door and she runs out to potty then she knocks at the door to let you know that she is ready to come back inside. We would love to keep Dolly as we have grown very attached to her in a short period of time but we cannot keep her inside stuck in a crate and since we do not have a fenced in yard to keep her from getting out on the road we cannot leave her outside alone. If you are interested in adopting Dolly you will need a warm, dry place for her in the winter and a fenced in yard. You will also need to be interviewed by Dolly's vet. Dolly is scheduled to be spayed on April 29th. She will be available for adoption approximately one week later after she has healed. Serious inquires only. Please contact by phone or text only.
