About Lucy

Lucy is an 11 year old sweetheart that has some behavioral issues. She is very shy and nervous/fearful at first, but after building trust with someone she is very affectionate, playful, and sweet. She is very sensitive to new smells, loud noises, unfamiliar people, and unwanted touching. She does not bite, but she may hiss if she gets scared and until she feels safe will often hide in a bed or closet. Lucy needs someone who is able to devote a lot of patience, time, and energy into her. She gets very anxious when she is home alone, so the best thing for Lucy is to have someone who will be home often. When she is in distress, she may defecate or urinate outside of her box. Too much stress in her past, like moving somewhere new, a new person moving in to the house, or new pet will cause severe stress for her and may result in medical issues. When she feels safe and happy, which admittedly requires a great deal of patience and care, she is a great cat.
