About Leo

American Staffordshire Terrier
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

[Read About Natural Incontinence Care] Leo is a full blooded, papered American Staffordshire Terrier that we purchased as a puppy in December of 2017 from a breeder in Georgia. He is loving, beautiful, and housetrained. When he first meets people he gets excited and wants to lavish them with kisses but quickly settles down and spends most of his day relaxing in his multiple dog beds. Here's the problem with Leo. At the age of one and half, after we had him neutered, he developed the condition of being incontinent. He randomly dribbles urine. He can be sleeping, standing, or playing when this happens. He is not marking or wetting due to excitement. It literally just drips. I've had him seen by our local vet and brought him down to Purdue. I did not pay the $3000+ at Purdue's Veterinary School to have him scoped because after examining him the vet told me that even if they went in and did the procedure of looking in the urethra, there was a good chance they wouldn't be able fix his urinary problem as it's very rare for male dogs. We tried medication and testosterone treatment and neither made a difference. Luckily, I discovered male wraps (like a diaper) that prevent excessive dripping in the house. That being said, he can't wear the wraps every minute of the day as he does tend to get a rash if I don't let him air out sometimes. Here's the even larger dilemma, my living conditions are changing, and I can't take my sweet, beautiful friend with me. My heart is broken. Rehoming him might be hard with his bladder problem. I was wondering if you know anyone special that would consider taking on my sweet boy. I would gladly supply the first few months of doggie diapers wraps. Other things about Leo - He loves to play with his dog brother. He's only played with him, and they play rough (never hurting each other). So I'm honestly not sure how he'd behave with other dogs. We have a fenced yard and he seems to be very prey driven because he goes a bit nuts when he sees other animals through the fence. He loves people and would most likely do fine with other pets after he got acquainted with them.
