About Chiko

Chiko is a silly 7 year old terrier mix looking for his forever home! Chiko is a petite guy, he currently weighs 6.4 pounds and is full grown. Chiko needs a very patient and understanding home that will let him warm up at his own pace. He came in with two other dogs and he was the most under socialized, only allowing attention after being scooped up with a blanket. He gets so happy to see staff now and despite no longer needing the blanket, he loves to jump into them to be picked up. When he meets new people he can be very shy and timid. He's been good with men and women and may do okay with older dog savvy teens that respect his space. Chiko wants to be the center of attention once he warms up and would do best as the only dog in the home. He may be okay with other dogs in social settings, however he can be very possessive of food and treats. Chiko needs a home with a securely fenced in back yard where he can learn house breaking, leash training, and become more social and comfortable before exploring the big world. We did a dental on Chiko while he was here and he had 8 teeth extracted and was already missing 18! Chiko is neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped, and vet checked. His adoption fee of $260 includes a complementary vet exam.
