Howdy! My name is Clive, and I'm a sweet, gentle, affectionate, quiet, laid-back tuxedo gray-tabby DSH fella with big white boots who was born in April 2018. I love-love-love human attention, so I luxuriate in chin scratches and sleep with Meowmy at night. I'm one of those rare cats who likes to be picked up and held. I get along great with the other foster cats and play big brother to the smaller ones. I also enjoy gazing out the window at the world outside from a patch of sunbeam on the cat tree. I've recuperated from surgery after being shot by a pellet gun as well as attacked by a dog! That's a lot for a young man like me to endure, but I'm a survivor! Here's my story: My Meowmy had been feeding me with some community cats. I was a robust, well-groomed cat who solicited her attention, so she thought I was just someone's pet. Then I disappeared for quite a while, and when I reappeared, I was in such bad shape -- weak, emaciated, and wobbly when I walked -- that she was stunned. She scooped me up and rushed me to her vet, who found that I had an infected (dog?) bite wound on my belly PLUS a gun's pellet lodged in my shoulder. I'd lost patches of fur, which could be attributed to malnutrition, stress, acute pain, and/or all the above. Thank heavens my voracious appetite has helped me return to my previous 'robust' fighting weight and to re-grow my 'well-groomed' fur coat. The only long-term issue is that I don't like the resident big dog -- probably because of the trauma of a dog's attacking me. In order for 'lovey-dovey' me to get as much human affection as I savor, Foster Meowmy thinks I'd do best in a quiet home as a solitary cat or a companion cat with another of like temperament. I hope that my traumatic story has plucked your heart stings and that I was rescued for a reason -- to be adopted by YOU! Arrange to meet me today so we can start writing happy, happy chapters in our lives together. Clive is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for his indoor-only home. No de-clawing permitted. His adoption fee is $100, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Clive, and we can let you know exactly where you can meet him.
