Bandit is a three-year-old black lab mix. We found him as a stray when he was about twelve weeks old. He was very malnourished and his tail was broken, so we took him in. Shortly after, he started growling at our kids and then at strangers. The vet thinks he's overly protective of my husband and me since he seems to only show aggressive tendencies when we're present. Bandit does well at the vet's office (the kennel workers think he's a sweetheart), and he did well with the trainers and other dogs when we took him to obedience training. He does not do well with other people or other dogs when around us, though. He loves attention, is very loyal, and would make a great guard dog. He would do well with someone who lives alone or doesn't have children and would be willing to work with him on his fear/anxiety based aggression. We simply can't have him around our children any longer. It's becoming a safety issue.
