About Hans Solo

Introducing Mr. Han Solo! He is a 5-month-old 'super mutt' mix (according to his DNA results). He's so cute that he draws a crowd wherever he goes, but he is a little shy at first around new people. He LOVES other dogs, and loves to play and run. He has a very sweet temperament and likes to cuddle when he is tired. He's still a puppy so does like to chew, but mainly chews on toys or bones. He's learning basic commands like sit, stay, come, and no! Little Hans has been diagnosed by our vet with Addison's Disease (Hypoadrenocorticism). This is a disease of low hormone output from the adrenal glands and can take different forms based on the hormones involved. He is stable on his treatment of prednisone (daily) and a once a month injection. The good news is that with proper veterinary care and medication, long-term prognosis is excellent with the majority of dogs living a normal lifespan. Hans' must have requirements are a secure fenced yard to run and play in, another playful dog in the home and at least one of his parents home most of the time. Hans has not been around children, but most likely he would do okay with children who are at least 10 years of age and of a gentle and responsible nature due to his shyness. His adoption fee is $400.
