About Mann

Adoption Fee: $350
Chihuahua
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Mann is a handsome 9 month old, 8 pound Chihuahua. Mann was surrendered to us with his brother and sister when his owner was unable to care for them. Mann is very chill for a youngster, although he will try to play with the other dogs in his foster home once in a while. He enjoys playing with a stuffed toy and will chase and retrieve a ball. He is timid and aware of how small he is, and he keeps his distance from the rowdy behaviors of the other dogs. Mann seems to like most people he meets but approaches strangers cautiously. He very quickly learns to trust though, and he is a sweet loving boy! He will give you a little kiss or paw your hand or roll to his back for a belly rub. Mann gets along with most dogs, although he and one of the other scrappier foster dogs mix it up every now and then, typically over food or his foster mom's affection. Mann would do well with another dog that's a bit low key, as he likes to snuggle in the dog bed and enjoys the company. He will be happiest in a home where his owner is with him a lot of the time as he bonds very strongly to his person. Because of his timid behavior and small size, children in the home should be older. Mann does not seem to like cats, though that maybe because he is smaller then they are! Mann enjoys being outside, exploring the yard and soaking up the sun. He naps during the day in his foster mom's office and, when he's allowed, he likes to sit on her lap while she works. He prefers to be with his person and likes to sleep cuddled up in the big bed at night. He asks to be lifted onto the couch or into your lap, and he will use the doggie stairs to get up into bed, although he's not so good about getting down and will cry so you don't forget him. Mann is doing well with his house training. He does infrequently mark and sometimes has accidents, he is still a puppy and just needs a little more training. He is well-behaved and good when left out in the house when his foster mom is gone. Mann is learning quickly that the harness is a good thing and he likes to go for walks and a car ride now and again. He knows his name and a few basic commands. He is a definite pleaser and easy to train. Since Mann likes the outdoors so much, a secure fenced in yard would be wonderful for him. He has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. His neuter is being scheduled at our vet and is covered by the rescue. Because he still has a pending vet appointment he is only adoptable within an hour drive to Pensacola. If you want to bring Mann home please submit an adoption application for review!
