About Durango

Durango is an energetic 3 year old chihuahua mix looking for his forever home! Durango is about 80 pounds of personality packed into a 15 pound body. He is a truly unique boy in search of someone who will love him for all his quirks. Durango was originally found as a stray and came to us from the county shelter. He showed us that all he needed was a little extra time and help in order to be a happy dog. Durango acts out when overly stimulated, he is now on Prozac to make it easier for him to relax and accept changes in his life. Durango has been able to bond with multiple staff members at the shelter, and is very affectionate and loving once he's warmed up. Durango loves his people and wants to be the center of attention, he will need to be the only dog in the home. Since he was found as a stray, we unfortunately have limited background information. Durango is an entertaining pup who will happily cuddle once he likes you, but needs a kid free home as he still can be rude to people he doesn't know yet. He must meet everyone in the home before adoption. He will need an experienced home that will give him a calm environment to thrive in and teach him how to be a dog. He would do best with active owners in a quiet home with limited to no visitors. He is still a very active and playful pup so while he is learning leash training and housebreaking, he will need a securely fenced in yard. Durango is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and vet checked. His adoption fee of $160 includes a complementary vet exam.
