About Honey Bear

Lab / Pit Bull
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Meet Honey Bear!! This fun loving sweetheart is ready for a family to adore her! She was found wandering and the family that found her just kept her. They let their other dog bully her and then eventually took her to a very rural shelter a few months later. Her face was covered in cuts, scrapes and bite marks z We were able to get her here safely and her face has healed up nicely. Honey Bear is a female, approx 2 year old, Yellow Lab/ bully breed mix. She weighs 50 pounds. She has been spayed, microchipped and is up to date on vaccines. She is unfortuntely heartworm positive. Her treatment is scheduled and paid for at no cost to the adopter. Honey Bear is overly friendly and has never met a stranger! She has done well with all size dogs and cats. Any dogs in the home will have to be okay with her slightly obnoxious playful behavior. Due to her being attacked by the dog in her previous home she gets scared and defensive if another dog tries to correct her. Poor girl doesn't want to be beat up on ever again! Another goofy, happy go lucky dog in the home would be perfect for her. Honey Bear has done well with children 5 and older(she hasn't met younger kids) She would probably be a bit to much excited energy for younger kids though. She isn't always aware of her size when she comes to share her love with you! Honey rides well in the car. She is working on leash training and doing well but does like to try and chase cars that go by. If you put her in a sit when the car approaches she will not chase them. She is crate trained and mostly potty trained. She had some accidents with her first foster but adjusted with time and is doing much better now. Honey has a moderate energy level and would be a perfect walking buddy. She's not crazy hyper but gets excited at times and enjoys another dog to play with or just playtime with her people. She isn't overly defensive about her treats and food with other dogs but she doesn't like other animals trying to take things from her. She would do best fed alone and given special bones etc in her kennel. She has no issues with people around her food, bones and treats. This pretty girl is ready for a family that will treasure her. She's excited to share her love with you! Located in Hampton VA. (She will need to be adopted within a 1 hour drive radius) ***Renters- - Do NOT apply to adopt her until you have spoken to your landlord and confirmed you are allowed to have a pitbull type breed*** 'IF INTERESTED IN ADOPTING READ BELOW ' Please message [email protected] with questions or to get an application.
