About Tulsa (west)

Hi, my name is TULSA - ID#A4531422. I am a neutered male, blue and white American Pit Bull Terrier, and I weigh about 65 lbs. The shelter staff think I am about 3 years old, and I have been at the shelter since Jan 27, 2021. Tulsa is a volunteer favorite. Here are some notes about him: 'Tulsa was very cuddly/engaging once we were away from others. He was calm in busy downtown Phoenix with trains and sirens. He wasn't bothered by skateboards and bikes and climbed into my lap and rested. He is a Super Sweet Boy. 1/31/2021 EVALUATION Pulled on leash; timid/trembling but jumped up to solicit attention and leaned into petting; startled when handler reached towards left side of face with cloudy eye/swollen wound - more relaxed when handler pet on right side; stiffened, growled at the fence when social male dog approached to greet; no dog-dog assessment has been done and we cannot provide any information about how this dog may interact with other dogs. 2/9/2021 WALK Per volunteer - Easy pull and return, pulled a lot during the walk. 2/13/2021 WALK per vol - Pull from back. Wanted to push out, but I had gate secured. No issues leashing. Strong puller, but started to settle further into the walk. Gentle with treats. Easy return. This poor boy has had a rough life.
