About Riley (west)

Hi, my name is RILEY - ID#A3554240. I am a neutered male, white and black American Pit Bull Terrier mix. The shelter staff think I am about 8 years old, and I have been at the shelter since Jan 31, 2021. Unfortunately, this isn't Riley's first stop at the shelter. The family that adopted him several years ago decided to return him several weeks ago. They said he would get scared of fireworks, and jump the fence, so he had to be chained while in the yard. This is not the ideal situation for Riley (or any dog), as he loves his humans and aims to please. He's a very smart guy. He knows sit and shake, and is easily motivated by treats to keep learning. While he doesn't do too bad on leash, his favorite thing to do at the shelter is hang in the yard with his favorite volunteers. As a senior at age 8, he's a pretty chill dude. While the shelter has not been able to evaluate him with other dogs, he did live with 2 other dogs in his previous home. It was also mentioned that he did well with older kids.
