About Gustav (Gus)

Domestic Cat
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Hello! My family needs to find a new home for our beloved cat! With my sister Serena, the last of us four siblings, graduating May 28th, my entire family will be embarking on a new stage of adventure abroad. As my parents prepare to leave behind our Redding home and travel overseas, the time has come for us to part with our precious cat Gustav (Gus). We're looking for someone who would be happy to love him as much as we have, which will be no easy feat! If you've had pets before you probably know how reluctant we are to say goodbye, and how determined we are to find a new owner with whom he'll have a wonderful life (wonderful enough for him to not miss us too much!). Gus will be needing a new home by late June. He has been neutered, and is up to date on his vaccinations. Gustav is a medium-haired black male, 7 years old. A very mild cat all around, perhaps even lazier than your typical cat! Gus started out very shy but has evolved over the years into a definite sweetheart. He'll always be the first to greet you in the morning with his tiny meow (which we hardly heard at all the first few years we had him!). He'll embark on the occasional lizard-hunt outside, and enjoys exploring a little, but for the most part he's content to laze around in the sun or keep you company as you do chores around the house. As we have always lived in the countryside, well away from the city, we've always let Gus enjoy roaming outside on our 4 acres of property during the mid-part of the day, but at night we make sure to always bring him in for safety (from coyotes, etc), as we have lost many cats by leaving them outside overnight. Since Gus is used to having property to roam around on and has never lived in a residential neighborhood, he is not car-smart or city-smart at all. We would appreciate it if you, or anyone you know, would like to adopt Gustav. If so, please message me! As we love him so much, we are going to be selective, but our family certainly knows that whoever adopts him will be very blessed! Thank you ahead of time.
