About Grimey

Grimey is a beautiful German Shepherd mix who was found abandoned in a field by the side of a highway. She is estimated to be about 2 years old. She was incredibly scared and we spent about a week feeding her in the field and gaining her trust before she let us take her home to foster her until her forever home could be found. She has been spayed, vaccinated, and treated for heartworms. She likely is showing signs of hip dysplasia (as is unfortunately common in german shepherds) and is on a monthly joint supplement and anti-inflammatory pain medicine (meloxicam). The supplements and meloxicam are only about $15 a month in total. Grimey is normally great with other dogs. She is timid when she first meets people and will need some time to warm up. But once she does, she LOVES being snuggled and just wants to be with you all the time. She chases cats so a home without cats or small critters is ideal. She has been fearful of children when taken out in public so she will need to go to an adult only home or a home with older kids who can be taught to gently interact with her and let her warm up to them. She loves to play fetch and wrestle and has an average amount of energy. She will need a fenced in yard and will not be adopted to anyone planning on crating, caging, tethering, or kenneling her. She is very calm indoors and loves to just snuggle up on a bed and hang out. She has done very well when left on her own and does not tear anything up.
