About Coco

Adoption Fee: $50
Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Female

Hi. I'm not sure if she or isn't a pure bred, but I do know that's a husky. I've been trying to find a place that I could contact about taking an old dog in (that we named Coco) that my fiance's fire department found near a dumpster fire a couple of months ago. I am not capable of caring for this beautiful, sweet girl - financially or physically. But we took her in temporary until I could find a place that I felt confidently would nurse her back to health and help her with all of the problems that she clearly has. She was extremely malnutritioned, and still not to the weight I'm sure this breed of dog should be at - going off of her size. I do not have the funds to care for her or take her to the vet. I can not get her to eat any kind of dog food - wet or dry, she only eats people food. And of course, mostly meat. She loves cheese too, I found out! But I try not to give her too much of that, other than a treat now and then. I did, however, purchase flea & tick medication to at least ease her of that pain (I just gave her her second dose of oral and topical medication on April 5th, 2021). The fleas were so bad when he brought her home that she was chewing herself to the point that both back legs, hind end and tail were covered in blood, constantly. The way her hair is falling out, nonstop, I'm guessing that she has mange (*update* I believe her hair was just falling out because a new coat was coming in. She has a beautiful coat of hair as of now!) It seems as though she may have had a stroke or something at some point, because he face droops on the left side. She also walks with a bad limp and falls down a lot, but she does try to play, and that causes her to fall, too, while she's running back and forth trying her best to play with you - it breaks my heart to see, but also warms my heart to see that this poor, beat up little girl still had so much love and will power to go on in her. %BD%BD%BD And neither of us wanted her to end up in a place that would make the decision to euthanize her due to the many other issues that are quite obvious.
