About Buddha

Buddha needs a home with a physically fenced yard and no small children. Meet Buddha. This 3 year old, 20 pound, Dachshund mix is looking for a new home. This friendly boy is not a fan of the new bundle of joy that his parents now have since adopting him 2 years ago. They have tried many things to help Buddha adjust to no avail. He has been very loved and his owners are dedicated to making it work until the perfect home comes along for Buddha. Buddha has been friendly towards other dogs but has never lived with one. He has not had experience with cats. We would recommend children 10 and up for Buddha due to his inexperience and his discomfort level with small children. Buddha is house trained and crate trained. He does have some anxiety that is easily managed with a low cost medication daily. The monthly cost is $10 a month. Buddha does not have any destructive tendencies due to his anxiety. He more so shows anxiety during trips in the car, during fireworks or storms, or around young children. Buddha loves running around a fenced yard and squirrel chasing. We would love to see that continue for him. Buddha is not the best on leash. He tends to think he is the toughest dog on leash and can be very barky. His owners have worked with him on this with not much improvement. If the goal for the new owner is to leash walk him frequently in a heavily trafficked area, he may not be the best fit. Buddha is snuggly and loves to be under the blankets. He currently sleeps on a pet bed or on the couch at night. He does take just a bit to warm up to strangers, but is very good with all the people he ends up meeting. Buddha is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped.
