My name is Red......my friends call be Bubba! I was just rescued from the Pinal County Shelter by Alone No More Dog Rescue. I am currently in a foster home but am looking for my forever family. I am a unique breed....I am a mix between a Coonhound and a Labrador Retriever. My red/mahogany/white markings make me so beautiful....don't you think? Let me give you a little Coonhound history: Developed in the southeastern U.S as a tougher and sturdier version of the English Foxhound, the Redtick Coonhound (also known as the English Coonhound) was bred to hunt foxes during the day and raccoons at night. Redtick Coonhounds manage to be relatively gentle and relaxed around the home, providing an interesting contrast to their hunting dog pedigree. Redtick Coonhounds are very patient and playful with children, and they can be quite friendly with new people. However, they also have a nose for danger. If you need a watchdog, they will do a solid job. I am 8yrs old and a bigger dog at over 60lbs. I am affectionate, dog friendly and good with new people. I walk well on a leash and have low energy. I would love to lounge with you on a nice comfy couch or a bed of my own. I am neutered, have all my shots and am microchipped.
