About Muffin

Muffin is a large (~18lb) male shorthair cat. He is all black with a few white hairs on his belly. We have raised him since he was a small kitten, he was found in someones attic. He has always been fearful of new people and is a very independent cat. He can be unpredictable and aggressive when there are new people around, but when he is comfortable with you he likes to cuddle up. His affection is definitely on HIS terms and prefers to lay on laps without being pet. He would do best in a home where he can have a safe space to hide when guests come over to avoid any stress to him or the guests. He is 100% litter trained, and needs to be kept on an UNSCENTED cat litter (currently using Tidy Cats unscented), as well as a urinary tract food. He had an issue with crystals in his bladder, but we have kept him on Purina One Urinary Tract Formula and have not had any issues since keeping him on that. He currently lives with a large (50lb) dog who has no interest in him, he would not do well with a high energy or small dog. He also lives with another cat who we adopted as a kitten and gets along great with her. He would do fine with another FEMALE cat with a very slow, thorough, introduction. He would do best with an experienced cat owner who has a quiet home!
