About Orion

Meet Orion!! This boy has a 100% husky personality. He's wide open, hyper, active, stubborn, super sweet, goofy, endless energy, and lots of hair! Please carefully read all of his post as he is not the right dog for most people. Orion is a purebred(puppy mill/pet store) Husky and he turned 6 months old yesterday. He weighs 53 pounds. He also has a really long tail. It's odd but beautiful. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. He is Heartworm negative. Orion has been good with other dogs but he's ALOT! He plays hard and likely wouldn't be a great match for tiny dogs. He really loves chasing cats around so absolutely no cats or similar small animals for his new home. He's nothing but love and is good with kids but they need to be older children. He's just to much for crazy energy for smaller kids. Heres the scoop on why he's not the right dog for everyone. Basically, he's a husky. He has ENDLESS ENERGY. He will go all day playing with people and other dogs and still be ready for more. He is a bit spastic on the leash and can climb some fences. He is vocal. He will sing you the songs of his people, sometimes at 3am(he's currently learning that his songs are not appreciated in the middle of the night.). He's super smart but forgets to listen. He's clumsy and goofy. He sheds enough to make a fur coat out of weekly. Now, If you're still reading this you might be a husky person�'�| The good stuff; Orion is all love. He loves everyone. No one is a stranger to him. He rides great in the car and learns quickly when you're able to hold his attention. He will go anywhere and do anything with you. You want a hiking buddy this is your guy, want a running partner, he's your man. He's extremely fun and outgoing. He's mostly potty trained aside from some territory marking in new places. You'll need to let him out often and watch for his cues that he needs to go out. (He was just neutered so that will hopefully help with the marking) Orion will keep both people and dogs in your home well exercised. He will keep you laughing with his crazy antics. He is overall really just lacking in the manners department but he has a ton of potential and we are working on teaching him how to be the best boy he can be. His foster is putting in a ton of work to get him to do better when crated and with leash walking. Please do not get a husky and think you will be able to change his core genetic behaviors. He is going to be hyper, vocal and escape if not properly watched for life. These things rarely change for this breed despite age or training.
