About Pepper

Pepper is approximately 5 year old lab mix, we are assuming possibly with heeler or cattle dog. Pepper is well behaved, does not chew and is house broken. She prefers the outdoors. We adopted her about 3 years ago when our kids were 3 and 5. She has done well with kids and typically well behaved with them, but she can be intolerant to them approaching food bowls or getting in her face too often. We have trained our kids to watch her behavior signs and they have a great relationship, but I would be wary of younger kids in her space. Pepper is a bit of a houdini, she can escape most chain link fences. She would require someone with a large privacy fenced yard, preferably with lots of room to roam. She would prefer to be an only dog, and is not too happy with our multiple animal household. She does not do well loud sounds, specifically fire works. She will find a hiding spot or even get out of the yard to get away. She loves being outside, loves hiking, water and she loved our most recent winter storm in Texas. Pepper has been a huge part of our family and we are heartbroken that we no longer fit her needs. Due to the increase in work demands, Pepper is no longer getting the attention or activity she needs. Additionally, our new home will be located near a loud stage that will no doubt be causing her additional stress. Pepper has a lot of quirks, but once she warms up to someone, she will be a great addition to their family.
