About Lulu

Adoption Fee: $50
Treeing Walker Coonhound mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Lulu is an absolutely adorable hound mix who was found about 6 months ago skinny and wandering lost with blisters on her paws and a cracked tooth. We took her in, and after having no luck at finding her original home, agreed to foster her until her forever home could be found. While Lulu has been in our care we have gotten her vaccinated, spayed, and gotten the cracked tooth removed. She has made progress on slowly gaining weight and the vet believes she will likely always be on the slender side. Lulu LOVES being outdoors and has enjoyed her time exploring on our land. She gets along wonderfully with male dogs but does not get along with female dogs. She will play with the female dogs on our farm very well when they are outside but when she is in the house she becomes very territorial and reactive towards female dogs. Unfortunately this is likely due to her being unspayed and in heat when we found her. However, Lulu gets along great with male dogs outside and inside the home and just loves to play and snuggle with all of our male dogs. Lulu loves to chase squirrels and rabbits and because of this, we don't recommend that she go to a home with small critters or cats. She adores people and while we don't have kids, she has always been sweet-as-pie to the kids we have come across in public. Unfortunately, we are just not set up to provide a forever home for Lulu due to her reactiveness towards other females but we have loved fostering her and are determined to find her a perfect home. Lulu has shown separation anxiety when left alone and can jump a fence that is less than 5ft tall so she will need a secure yard and someone familiar with separation anxiety. We would usually just take Lulu with us on errands or leave her in a space in the house where she couldn't get into anything and with a number of toys stuffed with peanut butter and other treats. We will absolutely not adopt her to anyone planning on crating Lulu for any amount of time or keeping her locked away in a room or kennel. We are looking for a forever home for Lulu where she will be truly integrated as part of the family. Located in Scott County, TN. We will want to see either footage or an in person visit of where Lulu will be living and get references, have a meet n greet with Lulu and your family and any dogs (must be male only) that she would be living with, and have an adoption contract signed. Thank you and please consider opening your heart and home to this sweet girl!
