About Bear

This is Bear. He is a neutered male Kelpie mix about a year old and he is ready for his forever home. Bear loves to play with other dogs! He is a good player and particularly loves to play 'chase me and catch they toy!' He is great about sharing and is happy to be the dog running with the toy or the one in pursuit. Bear is housebroken and knows several commands, including sit and go to bed. We know some about his past and are looking for a good fit. He is not confident about meeting new people but does great when there is a dog involved. Bear has gone on a sleepover with one of our volunteers and her big dog. She reported that Bear was very responsive and quickly figured out what was being asked of him. He rides well in the car and did well in a crate, despite being unfamiliar with it. Bear is looking for someone that will be patient with him while he learns the rules. Redwood Pals is committed to providing the initial training to help Bear settle in to a new home. He is such a sweet boy; are you the one to give him a second chance? He has some blue in his eyes which is typical of cattledog type breeds.
