About MISFITS

GaDaH has received our second batch of saved kitties from Kabul, Afghanistan working with a veterinarian and rescue in KABUL, Afghanistan to help save some of their abundance of stray and abused animals. MISFITS was flown into Washington DC, with 12 other kitties on 16th March and driven another 17 hours up to the rescue in Sebec, Maine. Misfits is spayed, rabies, feline panleukopenia, herpesviral and caliciviral infection, dewormed, monthly preventatives, microchipped, weighs around 6.7 pounds and has an estimated date of birth of 1 July 2020. Misfits arrived at the rescue and has been living in the bedroom with a few other cats. She was initially shy, but it didn't take her long to start exploring. She likes climbing and playing on the cat tree's and with the toys. She does interact with the other cats, but they are still all getting to know each other, but she has not shown any aggression. She is not too interested in human interaction and I presume she didn't have much whilst in Afghanistan, so a family that understands she will need time to build up trust and be patient is important. She enjoys sitting in the window watching the dogs, squirrels and birds. She is a beauty and deserves the best forever home and family. She entertains herself and has just started playing a lot more with the other younger cats. She has shown curiosity with me and will lie up on the bed, I have not approached her, but just letting her get close in her own time and keep her in her comfort zone. Considering the ordeal that these kitties have endured they have adapted into great companions. Whilst here at the rescue they have been kept indoors, however, I do believe that they had been mostly outdoor in Afghanistan, as they do act like they want to go outside, however, individual families will have to make that decision on their home and living environment and if need be, build or purchase a cat condo to give the cats the best of both worlds. MisFits is available for an adoption fee of $200 each, or $150 each if adopting more than one kittie. We realise that this is considerably more than cats that can be bought online or with local rescues, however, it is important to remember where the boys have come from and understand that $200 doesn't come close to covering even a slight portion of costs incurred. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then you complete and submit the contract, make payment and then we can work out the pick up / transport arrangements.
