About Rusty

Due to his coloring, we tend to think that Rusty's secondary breed could be a Boxer. He's very sweet, loving and loyal. He seems to be a bit intimidated by dogs his own size or larger. His play with our Yorkie has been a bit on the rough side, but we've seen real progress in that regard. He's 14 months old, housebroken, crate-trained, chipped, up on all his shots, and is on a heartworm/flea preventative. He's very playful with toys (and sticks), but likes to raid wastebaskets and has chewed up a number of things in the house. He's also a digger, which is one of the reasons we feel he's not going to work out for us. We adopted him from a family who had acquired him from a rescue agency, but after a couple of months gave him up because their older dog was being hostile and aggressive toward him. He needs a big yard and lots of attention (will want to cuddle with you), but will be a wonderful dog for someone with the right environment for him.
