Bishop is asking why he hasn't found his forever home yet. We don't know! He loves his foster home and they love him ... but he totally deserves his very own forever family. Bishop came to us when he was only about a year old. Now he's about five years old. Yup! 4 years in rescue! He had been rescued by a well-meaning Good Samaritan who discovered he was too much for her, with two small children. She had posted him on a free pet's site. We contacted her and she was happy and relieved that we wanted to help. He spent time in several foster homes, and in between fosters, way too long in boarding. NOW ... If Bishop was a difficult dog to place we could understand it. But he really isn't! He loves his people and is happy and content when he's with them. He's now perfectly able to spend time alone, too, if you work regular hours. It took a while for him to get comfortable again with other dogs after he was attacked and badly injured by another dog before he came to FFFR. But he's gotten over that! He's now happy to live with a canine companion ... or two ... or three .... He should not live with cats. Bishop will do best in an adult home with people experienced with his breed (he's a pit bull type dog). He'd LOVE a fenced yard where he can run around in nice weather. He loves walks. He loves car rides. Bishop is a GREAT DOG! So PLEASE consider adopting Bishop as your next family member. He's waited a very long time!
