About Millie

Millie is a 10-month old mountain cur I adopted from a local rescue. She is INCREDIBLY sweet--she LOVES everyone and she's a huge snuggle bug but she's very high energy, easily excitable and was likely not well socialized when she was young. As a result, she does not know how to interact well with other dogs--she does not display aggression but she does want to dominate smaller dogs and is too overexcited when she meets new dogs. She has a difficult time calming down but she is incredibly smart and learns very, very quickly. We have been working on crate training and leash walking and she is progressing with those but will need continued work. I have had her for three weeks and I am only rehoming her because I need a dog that is capable of playing with my parents dog, can go to doggy daycare and wants to spend days relaxing in my office and she is too high energy for that. She is a delightful dog and would be very happy on a farm or with a large yard where she could run off her lots of energy, and would be very successful with someone who has familiarity with dog training.
