Currently in foster in Olympia Washington. We would like a foster from June thru mid Sept! Ponzi is a approx 3 or maybe four year old old Catahoula Leopard mix with a curly tail. She has been living indoors for the first time in PNW. She and all her siblings lived outside in TX and were not socialized. She did have children as young as 10 to interact with outside when in TX. She came to foster in the PNW to get her loving forever home and continued socialization so she continues to blossom to her full loving potential. Ponzi is extremely smart and has already learned how to walk on a leash and appropriate bathroom behavior. She loves cozy spots to nap and being wrapped in a blanket at bedtime. She enjoys going for daily walks and would really love to be her person's jogging buddy or live in a home with a large fenced yard where she could sprint out her daily 3:00pm zoomies. She's still very apprehensive about other people (primarily men) initially but is learning to trust humans and has made tremendous progress meeting new people. Treats and consistent training are highly effective with this girl, who loves to be rewarded for positive behavior. Ponzi is a great snuggler and seems to be very grateful for being in a warm and cozy home. She would make a great companion for someone who has the time and desire to continue working with her to help her blossom fully into the incredible dog that she is. She loves car rides, chasing birds and has already explored wading into the Puget Sound on a leash. We speculate that she's going to be a great water dog during the summer. Since coming to WA, she's learned about the joy of toys and playing ball. Ponzi's forever home should have no other animals and no young children. Due to her being skittish and easily 'spooked' a calm home with a fenced yard would be best. Inside a home where she feels safe, with humans she can trust, she has no problem with game day cheering or listening to music on high. She's a great office mate for a remote worker and enjoys going on car rides. She's up to date on all of her vaccinations and does not mind having her nails trimmed or getting a bath. Many dogs posted here are available to pre adopt NOW directly from the rescue. The only ones in foster in the NW specifically state that. We have very few fosters so most need to be pre adopted.
