About Buckwheat

Adoption Fee: $20.00
Domestic Cat
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Please help me with Buckwheat - he has been stuck in the garage now for weeks because I don't want let him go back outside. I do not do social media, but I have put the word out with those I thought might help. I think he would be a great indoor cat, which I believe he may've been at one time. He uses the litter box like a pro! 2/14/21 Took Buckwheat to the VET. Tested for FIV - positive. Spent night at VETs office. 2/15/21 Neutered and received Rabies, FVRCP and FELV Vaccines. Shaved due to terrible mats, nails trimmed, ears cleaned and came home @ 7PM. He has been allowed to run loose in our garage and he comes and goes from the big dog cage I have set up out there with the litter box and sleeping blanket. When I put the blanket in there on the 16th he grabbed it with his teeth and made bread on it and purred. I missed a beautiful photo op - he hasn't put it in his mouth that I've seen since, but he does make bread and purr periodically! I am not able to bring him into our home as I already have 5 kitties, four of which were feral and one of them is blind. I will not take the chance that they will not have altercations as my one male would not handle well at all. For @ 10 years now I have been feeding the feral kitties that come to our home every night for dinner. I catch and spay/neuter all of them, keeping them in our garage for 3 days to heal and rest, then release. Unfortunately we have lost 2 during surgery and had 1 pass away recently in our back yard from unknown causes. All that have passed are taken and cremated then kept back at our home out of respect. When we travel I pay a cat sitter to visit my indoor kitties twice a day as well as feed the 7 to 10 that show every night. We have great housing and heating for them on the cold days and nights, which they love. Buckwheat is one of the kitties that was coming for dinner and I could tell was friendly - I firmly believe he is a stray likely left after some folks moved. He didn't hang with the feral kitties, but they would intermingle without incident.
