About Serena

**SERENA IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION IN NEW ENGLAND & NY ONLY*** Serena came into rescue from a dog lover who got her from a back-yard breeder. She came to us very pregnant and within 10 days had 9 puppies. The puppies were all very healthy fat and happy, and Serena was so trusting through the birth and nursing of her puppies. After weaning her pups, gaining a bit of weight and gaining confidence that she was loved, Serena has blossomed into and extraordinary girl. She gets along with all kinds of dogs. Foster mom currently has 4 dogs, and they weigh between 15 lbs. and 60 lbs. The personalities range from: constant play to grumpy old man. Serena wants them all to play but has learned to navigate all these different dogs well. She is what foster mom calls a 'Georgia Brown Dog'. A mix of lots of things. Foster parents have a fenced yard that she loves, and she seems to be completely housetrained. Most of her day is spent curled up near foster mom or on the couch, but if she sees a squirrel in the backyard, she just can't help herself and chases it out of the yard. There also are deer and a bear in the area. She lets her foster parents know when either are around. She is a good leash-walker with a harness but hold on tight if she sees a squirrel or chipmunk. It is definitely her nature to sniff out and chase. For this reason, we would recommend to never let her out of her fenced yard unleashed-her instincts could take her miles from home. She loves to have her belly rubbed and her forehead kissed. She likes surrounding herself with chew toys and stuffed animals. Foster mom talks to her a lot during the day, reassuring her she is a wonderful dog and should forget her past. Serena is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She is about 1-2years old. Serena is a keeper, so loving and good-natured-her foster parents are in love with her but have several dogs of their own and know that it would be best for this special girl to the perfect forever home, just for her!
